Menopause, the very word that sends a woman shivers brings along not just a stop to the menstruation, but tends cause ripples in the stable life that she leads.

Looking at the other side of the coin, Women who lead sedentary lifestyles suffer from a ailments like heart disease, High blood pressure, Joint problems, diabetes, sleep problems, back pains, breathing problems, obesity etc are only some of the few symptoms that women tend to pertain as they age. The best thing to do is to shift focus on more valuable things such as:
§ Taking up interesting hobbies like painting, gardening, cooking, dancing, reading etc: Focusing on such options helps the body to release hormones that fight any calamity in the body. The body when is left unoccupied generates certain cells, which multiply, and cause a breakdown in the body’s metabolism and function. When the woman reaches Menopause, her life seems meaningless. The desire can be cultivated if she is preoccupied with some hobby.
§ Indulging in vigorous strength training exercises: Exercises have always helped the body to fight any disaster like weight problems, mental well being. It also helps to eliminate osteoporosis when you get older. Since bones have a tendency to thin if left inactive, there is big risk of bone fracture in the near future. When menopause strikes, women who regularly exercise need to worry because their regular exercise prevents the ill effects of menopause on them. Thus they feel 20 even when they are 60.
§ Practicing Yoga and Pranayam on a daily basis. This generates release of feel good bio-chemicals, which tend to uplift the spirit of women. This also helps in regulating body temperature thereby controlling hot flashes and night sweats, which are very common among menopausal women.
§ Furthermore, regular exercises helps in giving oxygen to the brain that helps to think better and helps in memory retention.
§ Exercises should be done with utmost care. Stretching exercises are very beneficial since they provide flexibility to the muscles.
§ A sensible and properly planned health diet should be followed to maintain a decent body weight.
